The North American Limousin Junior Association (NALJA) is pleased to present the title of Honorary Member to Jim Bob and PJ Hendrickson of Adair, Okla. The award was given at the awards banquet of the 2016 National Junior Limousin Show and Congress (NJLSC) on July 14 in Lexington, Ky.

“This year’s honorary NALJA members have a passion for the Limousin breed and an even stronger passion for the young people in the breed,” said Randee Corns, NALJA ex-officio, during the awards presentation.

Jim Bob and PJ have always been involved in agriculture, growing up on farms in rural Oklahoma. They have two daughters, Jamie and Abby, who were both very active in the Limousin junior association. The Hendricksons became involved with the Limousin breed in 1993 when Jamie started showing. They attended their first Limousin junior national show in 1993.

The family has been active in the Oklahoma Junior Limousin Association, both girls as members and PJ as advisor for four years. Jim Bob has been a member of the Oklahoma Limousin Breeders Association Board of Directors since 2005, serving as vice president for two years and president for six years. He is currently the secretary of the North American Limousin Foundation Board of Directors and provides direction to NALJA as an advisor and chairman of the junior committee.

“Jim Bob and PJ have always loved Limousin cattle, and it’s a love they have taken on side by side. For them it’s not just about the cattle, they love the kids. Nothing makes them happier than seeing a child grow and find themselves through their involvement with Limousin cattle,” continued Corns.

The NALJA Board of Directors chooses the Honorary Member every year. It is awarded to individuals who have played an important role to positively influence the junior association. The first NALJA Honorary Member award was presented in 1975. The following is a list of all recipients.
