Understanding the promotional benefits of livestock shows, NALF established and coordinates the breed’s Medal of Excellence (MOE) program which annually recognizes point leading animals, sires, dams, exhibitors, and seedstock producers for their success in the show ring annually.
The MOE program awards points for placings in MOE recognized and sanctioned shows including: 5 Level 1 shows (National Western Stock Show, Fort Worth Stock Show, All-American Limousin Futurity, American Royal Livestock Show, and North American International Livestock Exposition) as well as 10-15 Level 2 shows.

The Heartland Board of Directors voted NOT to hold a Regional Show in 2017 since they are hosting the 2017 National Junior Limousin Show and Congress in Grand Island, Nebraska July 1-7. They raise money from their Heartland members and depend on them to volunteer their service to put on the regional show. They would be asking the same people to help sponsor and work at the national show.
They encourage juniors, their families, and other Limousin enthusiasts to attend the “Escape to Grand Island” in July. It will be a great event!
As part of NALF’s objective to provide members and the industry with up-to-date information, all show results submitted to LIMOUSIN TODAY are published in our print and digital formats. These results may be used for additional publication purposes.
Members and state associations are asked to submit show results and photos to LIMOUSIN TODAY for publication. Send the information to Jennifer Scharpe, NALF director of public relations and media, at LimousinMedia@gmail.com.
The show committee voted to upgrade the show vests this year. The new vests will be a black soft shell with the Limousin logo on the chest. Vests will be ordered and shipped by American Royal.
Vests will not be required at the American Royal and NAILE, however they will be required at National Western Stock Show.
