Limousin Juniors Gather at Western Regional Show

The Western Regional Junior Limousin Show was June 15 in Klamath Falls, Ore. Jered Shipman, Lockney, Texas, evaluated 38 entries for exhibitors from California, Oregon and Washington.

Meghan Hauck, Wheatland, Calif., led the grand champion owned female. DJ Spearmint Paddy is an April 30, 2006, daughter of KRVN Naskar 013N and was the Division 2 champion.

CIC Sasha 226S was the reserve grand champion owned female for Donnie Summers, Klamath Falls, Ore. The Feb. 26, 2006, daughter of CIC Navigator 212N was the champion in Division 3.

Mindin Ferguson, Wheatland, Calif., led MNDN Showstopper to grand champion honors in the bred-and-owned female show after winning Division 1. The heifer is a Sept. 9, 2006, daughter of Carrousels Pure Power.

Lance Bierlink, Blaine, Wash., had the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female in LANZ Reflection, a Nov. 6, 2005, daughter of TUBB Laredo 7021N. She first won Division 4.

In the bred-and-owned bull show, MNM Scotch On The Rocks – a May 1, 2006, son of LESF Asphalt 9N – earned grand champion honors for Hauck after winning Division 1.

The reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull was KVDH Rocky 214R, the Division 2 champion. Kevin Dean, Watsonville, Calif., owns the Dec. 17, 2005, son of COLE Nitro 84N.

Holly Smith, Port Orchard, Wash., led the grand champion in the Lim‑Flex® female show. DJ Score Keeper is a March 21, 2006, daughter of BR Midland out of MAGS Keeping Score.

DRAY Lifesaver 02S was the reserve grand champion Lim‑Flex female for Dylan Ridgeway, Marysville, Calif. She is a March 29, 2006, daughter of BCC Bushwacker 2156-3064 out of Nite Lite 82N.

Eric Summers, Klamath Falls, Ore., won the steer show with CIC Buster Douglas, a 1,130-pound, halfblood son of CIC Miata 37M. The reserve grand champion steer was TRLP 35S, the 1,096-pound Lim‑Flex son of Perfect Choice 08P that Jordan Ridgeway, Marysville, Calif., showed.

Bierlink had the best pair of females.

In the showmanship contests, Cody Bierlink, Blaine, Wash., worked his way to the top of the Junior Division. Carson Backus, Orting, Wash., claimed highest honors in the Intermediate Division. Smith won the title of champion senior showman.
