Steers, B&Os, Lim‑Flex 1st to Enter Ring at Limousin Jr. Nationals

Junior Limousin exhibitors displayed the results of their personal breeding programs in the bred-and-owned shows at the National Junior Limousin Show and Congress (NJLSC) July 25 in West Monroe, La. Judge Travis Pembrook, Fairview, Okla., watched them parade 32 females and 18 bulls.

EF Cash Me Out 601R, owned by Austen Etherton, Dawson, Ill., earned grand champion bred-and-owned female honors. The Sept. 1, 2005, daughter of EXLR New Generation 071M first won Division 3. The reserve grand champion was SL Dream Walkin, the Division 3 runner-up. Jordan Straight, Logan, Iowa, owns the Jan. 15, 2006, daughter of GPFF Blaque Rulon.

In the bred-and-owned bull show, Pembrook found the grand and reserve champions in divisions 2 and 1, respectively. Straight’s SL Thunder Struck earned grand champion honors. He is a Jan. 17, 2006, son of GPFF Blaque Rulon. The reserve grand champion was MKLM Harddrive 213S – a July 22, 2006, son of EXLR Network 7100N. Michael Mitchell, Mangum, Okla., owns him.

Pembrook sorted 28 head in the Lim‑Flex® female show. Corinne Harrison, Minier, Ill., won grand champion with EXLR Scotch Cap 191S, the Division 1 champion and an Oct. 2, 2006, daughter of LESF Asphalt 9N out of EXLR Scotch Cap 1005N. Reserve grand champion went to Sennett Blackbird 63SLF50, the Division 1 reserve champion. Ellie Sennett, Waynetown, Ind., owns the Oct. 10, 2006, daughter of Carrousels Pure Power out of Blackbird Of R R 7694.

The steer show included four entries in the Prospect Division and three head in the Progress Division. Wyatt Herrington, Ellisville, Miss., won champion prospect steer with WYHE Bug – an 874-pound; Oct. 1, 2006; halfblood son of CHAZ Miss Susie Dee 6022F. Reserve champion went to LFL 6063 S – the 878-pound; Oct. 3, 2006; halfblood son of LFL First Edition 1013L that Willie Marc Payne, Levelland, Texas, showed.

Emily Griffiths, Kendallville, Ind., had the champion progress steer in 3G Stiff Upper Lip 671S – a 1,185-pound; March 22, 2006; seven-eighths son of GPFF Blaque Rulon. Cashe Heldermon, Hinton, Okla., had the reserve champion with KRVN Sir John 156S – a 1,100-pound; April 20, 2006; halfblood son of CHR King Diamond.
