Limousin Exhibitors Lead 90 Head in Louisville
The North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) Limousin show was Nov. 14 in Louisville, Ky. The NAILE is one of the North American Limousin Foundation’s (NALF’s) four major Medal of Excellence (MOE) shows.
In the Lim‑Flex® show, judge Terry Burks of Bowling Green, Ky., evaluated 17 females and six bulls. He then sorted 51 Limousin females and 16 Limousin bulls in the main show.
In the Limousin bull show, DHVO Deuce 132R won the grand champion banner after winning Division 6. Magness Land and Cattle, Platteville, Colo.; Lawrence Family Limousin, Anton, Texas; Kervin Cattle Co., Winnfield, La.; and Lance Hall Cattle Co., Sweetwater, Texas, own the March 13, 2005, son of GPFF Blaque Rulon.
The reserve grand champion Limousin bull was DVFC Sitting Bull, the Division 6 reserve champion. The Sept. 26, 2005, son of EXLR Native 7133N belongs to Deer Valley Farm, Fayetteville, Tenn., and P&D Ranch, Grandview, Texas.
The title of grand champion Limousin female went to MAGS Strawberry, the Division 6 winner. Magness Land and Cattle and DJ Limousin, Port Orchard, Wash., own the Jan. 16, 2006, daughter of EXLR New Generation 071M.
ZWLC Jenna 907S followed her win in Division 5 by claiming reserve grand champion Limousin female. Kyle Delaplaine, Gettysburg, Pa., owns the March 15, 2006, daughter of EXLR Native 7133N.
Grand champion honors in the Lim‑Flex bull show went to MAGS Scotland, the Division 2 winner and a May 10, 2006, son of BR Midland out of MAGS Marquee. Magness Land and Cattle owns him.
Sennett Cattle Co., Waynetown, Ind.; Etherton Farms, Dawson, Ill.; and MVC Cattle Co., Clarksville, Mo., own the reserve grand champion Lim‑Flex bull. VUKR Wonder Bull 2, a Jan. 3, 2005, son of EXLR Moderator 053M out of VUKR Miss Brady, was the Division 3 champion.
MAGS Snickers came from Division 3 to win grand champion Lim‑Flex female. Kelvin Moreno, Miami, Fla., owns the March 25, 2006, daughter of BR Midland out of MAGS Lady Ace.
Sennett Emblynette 723T claimed reserve grand champion Lim‑Flex female for Ellie Sennett, Waynetown, Ind. The Division 1 winner is a Feb. 1, 2007, daughter of SAV 004 Predominant 4438 out of Sennett Heather 448P.
Deer Valley Farm had the first- and second-place produces of dam with progeny of EXLR Jenna 056M and DVFC 290H, respectively. It also had the first-place senior get of sire with progeny of EXLR Native 7133N.
Magness Land and Cattle claimed both the Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor honors.
In the juniors’ female show Nov. 11, judge Kyle Colyer of Bruneau, Idaho, selected EXLR Rebeca 797S as grand champion from among 41 entries. Megan Greenawalt, Lynchburg, Ohio, exhibited the March 28, 2006, daughter of Carrousels Pure Power. 3G Twisted Sister 769T – a March 20, 2007, daughter of RGMA Night Rider 73N – was reserve grand champion for Mark Blake, Earl Park, Ind.
The bred-and-owned champion in the junior show was 3G Sexy Witch 625S. She is a March 12, 2006, daughter of AUTO Black Dakota 129J. Emily Griffiths, Kendallville, Ind., owns her.
