NWSS Lim‑Flex Female Pen Sale Averages $10,000
The Lim‑Flex® female pen show at the National Western Stock Show (NWSS) in Denver, Colo., was Jan. 16. All four of the pens, including alternates, sold after the show; and the overall sale average was $10,000.
The high-selling individual came from Magness Land and Cattle, Platteville, Colo. Half interest in MAGS Slow Poke – a Feb. 28, 2006, daughter of BR Midland out of MAGS Pokey – sold to Massey Limousin, London, Ky., for $20,500.
Slow Poke’s February 2006 penmates, MAGS Sandbox and MAGS Shutterbug, sold to Etherton Farms, Dawson, Ill., and a partnership between Kervin Cattle Co., Winnfield, La., and Young and Rogers Farm, Wichita Falls, Texas, for $14,000 and $10,500, respectively.
The second-highest–selling individual also came from Magness Land and Cattle. Half interest in MAGS Teakettle – a March 11, 2007, daughter of DHVO Deuce 132R out of HA Blackcap 1089 – sold to Massey Limousin for $17,500.
The rest of that March 2007 pen of four sold as follows: MAGS Tenderhearted to Etherton Farms for $16,500; MAGS Terry-Lynn to Moreno’s Limousin Farms, Venus, Fla., for $11,500; and MAGS Tarra to Freed Livestock, Fairbury, Ill., for $6,500.
Fuller Investments LLC, Nashville, Tenn., swept the September 2006 pen of four from Logan Hills Cattle Co., West Harrison, Ind., for $6,000 each. The February 2007 pen of three from Lewis Limousin Farms, Iliff, Colo., averaged $3,367; and Kervin Cattle Co. and McCary Farms, Chattanooga, Okla., were the buyers.
