Outstanding Limousin and Lim-Flex cattle were on display at the 2016 American Royal held in Kansas City, Mo. Show day was October 27, beginning with the Limousin junior show and followed by the Level 1 Medal of Excellence (MOE) Limousin show.
Jerome Settles, Scribler, Neb. had the honors of sorting the 13 female entries in the junior show. Brett Barber Channing, Texas, evaluated the 22 open cattle, consisting of 17 females and five bulls.
In the junior show, the grand champion Limousin female title went to Riverstone Charmed, a January 31, 2015, purebred daughter of TMCK Durham Wheat 6030X. Madison Ratliff, Westphalia, Kan., exhibited this champion female, who first claimed division III champion.
Reserve junior show female honors went to AUTO Danielle 205D ET. She is a 37% Lim-Flex daughter of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B, born on January 22, 2016. This division I champion was exhibited by Cody Heavin, Springfield. Mo.
In the MOE open show, Madison Ratliff struck again with her heifer Riverstone Charmed. The heifer made a clean sweep of the American Royal, taking home the grand champion Limousin female title. She was first named the division V champion.
Cody Heavin found the backdrop again for the reserve champion Limousin female, this time with AUTO Luckie Lady 280C ET. From division IV, she is a June 6, 2015, 50% Lim-Flex daughter of PVF Insight 0129.
For the Limousin bull show, Scott Edwards, Higginsville, Mo., exhibited the grand champion Limousin bull with his division IV champion. SEEE Common Law is a March 4, 2015, 62% Lim-Flex son of EF Xcessive Force.
Pinegar Limousin, Springfield, Mo., showed the reserve champion Limousin bull. AUTO Luckie Guy 140D ET is an April 28, 2016, 62% Lim-Flex bull, sired by AUTO Lucky Strike 118B, from division I.
Premier breeder and premier exhibitor honors went to Pinegar Limousin.
