Limousin and Lim-Flex cattle hit the famous “green chips” of the 2016 North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Ky. The Level 1 Medal of Excellence (MOE) Limousin show was held on November 16. Cody Sankey, Economy, Ind., evaluated the 54 open cattle, consisting of 40 females and 14 bulls.
The grand champion female honors went to AUTO Camilla 606C, exhibited by Dominic Ruppert, Witt, Ill. She is a March 19, 2015, 50 percent female out of S A V Brand Name 9115, who first claimed division five.
ETGC Candy Apple exhibited by Abigail Tipton, Greenback, Tenn., was selected reserve champion female. From division three, Candy Apple is sired by TASF Aristotle 752A and was born November 22, 2015.
For the Limousin bull show, JCL Land & Cattle and Thomas & Son Farms, Welch, Okla., exhibited the grand champion Limousin bull with their division five champion. TASF Crown Royal 960C is an April 24, 2015, purebred son of DHVO Deuce 132R.
Wies Limousin and Edwards Land & Cattle, Saint Charles, Mo., showed the reserve champion Limousin bull. ELCX Kings Landing 599 is a February 12, 2016, 81 percent Limousin bull, sired by MAGS Xyloid, from division two.
Premier breeder honors went to Edwards Land & Cattle, Beulaville, N.C. Premier exhibitor was awarded to Portwood Family Limousin, Versailles, Ky.
