The first full day of the International Limousin Congress, Friday, July 20, the group headed to the National Western Stock Show to watch the All-American Limousin Futurity that is held in conjunction with the National Limousin Junior Show & Congress. Attendees from all over the world were excited to see what the cattle look like in the United States and many were introduced to Lim-Flex cattle for the first time.
On Saturday, July 21, 2018, International Limousin Congress attendees enjoyed the wonderful mountainous scenery that Colorado offers. Estes Park was a great way for participants to enjoy the Rocky Mountains and a morning in this popular mountain town.
After Estes Park, the buses were loaded down and on the way to Platteville, Colo. to visit and tour Magness Land & Cattle. Participants socialized in the show barn and then took a bus tour around the ranch to look at some of the MAGS genetics. Magness purchased their first Limousin cattle for the Colorado operation in 1981. Magness serves both the commercial and the purebred cattle producers with leading genetics. Today, Magness Land & Cattle market about 300 commercial bulls each year. After the bus tour, attendees gathered back in the show barn for another question and answer session before they boarded the buses again to head back to Denver.
Attendees look forward to more ranch tours and the beautiful Colorado scenery as the congress continues.
