This project allows scientists from Colorado State University to study the use of subsurface drip irrigations on crops and their impact of drought-like situations on crops irrigated with subsurface irrigation systems.

During the technical session Dr. Tonya Amen will discuss the new cattle evaluation NALF is transitioning to as we advance to the BOLT NCE in America provided by International Genetic Solutions versus our old Cornell system evaluation for EPDs. She will also address our applications of the genetic profilers we use for Limousin cattle and DNA testing in the United States. We’ll also have a panel of industry professionals discussing the American beef industry on an international level.

- Wednesday, July 25: Fillmore Ranch Lunch – $40
Fillmore Ranch is now a fifth-generation ranch. Homesteaded in 1917, today it’s Larry with his sons Gary and Brent as well as their families that carry on the tradition. Together, they run over five hundred registered and commercial cows. No matter the end product their goal is to have balanced and functional cattle that have an excellent disposition, calve unassisted, raise a quality calf every year, are efficient converters of forage, and travel on a good set of feet and legs. They are relentless in their pursuit of genetics that meet these standards because they know most of their customers raise cattle in the same environment that they do.

Running Creek Ranch has been raising Limousin cattle since 1979. The last several years they have registered more Limousin cattle than any other seedstock producer. Quality in volume are foremost from their program. Running Creek Ranch annually markets, at private treaty, 250 virgin two-year-old bulls and 300 bred heifers straight from the heart of the program. Performance oriented, range ready bulls and females are produced emphasizing balanced trait selection. For over 18 years, they have been producing superior Limousin cattle that meet the expectations of our commercial customers. Through artificial insemination, they annually utilize the very best calving ease and performance genetics available.

Join us to celebrate a great conference at the Closing Ceremony held at the historic Antlers Hotel in Colorado Springs!
Colorado Springs was founded in August 1871 by General William Jackson Palmer and his idea of a first-class hotel came to life; The Antlers, A Wyndham Hotel opened in June of 1883. General Palmer named the hotel “The Antlers” as it housed his large collection of deer and elk trophies which was the envy of many. Although being very successful, disaster struck when on October 1, 1898, the hotel burned to the ground. The hotel was evacuated in time, with no injuries reported; however, the hotel could not be saved. After being rebuilt in 1904, it remained in operation until 1964. The hotel was then torn down and re-built, re-opening the spring of 1967, still in it’s original location. In 1975, the Broadmoor Management Company took over the operation of The Antlers.
