Limousin receives warm welcome in Music City

The 2017 Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show was held Feb. 1-3 in Nashville, Tenn. This year’s convention and trade show was the largest ever with more than 9,300 attendees.

The North American Limousin Foundation once again cooperated with other breed partners for the International Genetic Solutions booth of the NCBA Trade Show (Booth #1314). NALF representatives including Executive Director Mark Anderson, Assistant Executive Director Joe Epperly, Regional Manager Corey Wilkins, and Director of Public Relations & Media Jennifer Scharpe attended the event.

During the trade show, demonstrations of the new International Genetic Solutions Feeder Profit Calculator were held. The IGS Feeder Profit Calculator is the new benchmark in gauging feeder calf value. The IGS Feeder Profit Calculator empowers producers to market with confidence and feeders to maximize their purchasing dollars.

Congratulations to Wulf Cattle for being a recipient of the National BQA Award presented at the convention. As well, several Limousin individuals have taken on leadership roles on the national level. Jerry Effertz is the 2017 NCBA Federation division chairman. Bob Mitchell is a member of the Cattlemen’s Beef Board. Jennifer Scharpe was elected secretary of the American National CattleWomen, Inc.
