A total of 140 head of cattle were lead into the show ring for the second show day at the 2016 National Junior Limousin Show and Congress (NJLSC). Judge Matt Claeys, West Lafayette, Ind., had a full schedule of events as he evaluated the 82 Limousin heifers, 29 bred and owned Lim-Flex heifers, three Limousin bulls, 12 Lim-Flex bulls, four Limousin cow-calf pairs, and ten Lim-Flex cow-calf pairs.
In the owned Limousin heifer show, Claeys selected Riverstone Charmed as the grand champion female. Madison Ratliff, Westphalia, Kan., exhibited this female. The reserve champion owned Limousin female was awarded to BC Sister’s Ride 080C, exhibited by Peyton Collum, Guthrie, Okla.
In the bred and owned Lim-Flex heifer show, grand champion honors were awarded to Rachel Booth, Miami, Okla., showing RLBH Champagne ET. Linden Faith Linthicum, Welch, Okla., exhibited the reserve champion bred and owned Lim-Flex female, JCL Cinnamon LNLM 522C.
In the Limousin bull show, Claeys selected DL Crimson 63C as the grand champion bull. He was exhibited by Blair Davis, Clyde, Texas. Alexa Montagne, Elk Point, SD, exhibited the reserve champion Limousin bull with JLX Chisholm.
The grand champion Lim-Flex bull was awarded to CBAR Captain Call, exhibited by Colt Cunningham, Rose, Okla. HUBB Chrome 922C was selected as the reserve champion Lim-Flex bull was exhibited by Grant Weston Hubbard, Miami, Okla.
Claeys selected SPRNG CRKS Bambi 4085B and her February 1, 2016 bull calf sired by WEBR TC Card Shark 1015 as the grand champion Limousin cow-calf pair. The pair was exhibited by Lily Mitchell, Boscobel, Wisc. Claeys then selected the reserve grand champion Limousin cow-calf pair to be MINE PLD Adeline with her January 10, 2016 heifer calf sired by Shomari. Sarah Anne Johnson, Williamsport, Ohio exhibited the pair.
ELCX Aaliyah 453 A with her January 3, 2016 heifer calf sired by WLR Game of Thrones, were named grand champion Lim-Flex cow-calf pair. The pair was exhibited by Jensen Barwick, Seven Springs, NC. Claeys then selected the reserve champion Lim-flex cow-calf pair to be MINE PLD Daisy 2079Z and her February 8, 2016 heifer calf sired by MAGS Attorney General. Anne Kathryn Hurt, Richmond, Ky., exhibited the pair.
Ashlee Sue Corns, Altoona, Kan., exhibited the champion pair of females and Oklahoma was awarded the best state group.
