Winning the showmanship contest at a national level junior show is one of the highlights of any junior member’s career. Four age divisions of members from the North American Limousin Junior Association competed in the national Limousin showmanship contest on Monday, July 5, 2021. The contest was held during the National Junior Limousin Show & Congress, July 3 -July 8, 2021 in Grand Island, Neb.
Chris & Sharee Sankey, Council Grove, Kan., served as the judges for the contest.
The top ten showpersons from each age division were selected.
In the novice division, ages five to nine, champion showman was Braylen Schaeffer, Hagerstown, Ind. Rounding out the top fourteen were: D’Lelah Laber, Hillsboro, Ohio; Calin Kinder, Piedmont, Okla.; Aleah Byers, Jonesborough, Tenn.; Aliston McCarley, Girard, Kan.; Charli Jo Kinder, Piedmont, Okla.; Cade Freed, Fairbury, Ill.; Miranda Pinnell, Cuba, Mo.; Tenley Elmore, Hominy, Okla.; Tara Mueller, Hunter, Kan.; Josie Ozburn, Unionville, Tenn.; Kynlee Mae Thomas, Wolfforth, Texas; Radley Berry, Port Orchard, Wash.; and Allie Edwards, Beulaville, N.C.
The junior division consists of members ages ten to 13. Champion showman was Rowdy Berry, Port Orchard, Wash. Rounding out the top ten included: second, Jemma Dorsey, Moro, Ill.; third, Claire Sennett, Waynetown, Ind.; fourth, Memphis Peterson, Pukwana, S.D.; fifth, Mckinlee Palmatary, Durant, Okla.; sixth, Carly Kolterman, Garland, Neb.; seventh, Scott Swanek, Dexter, Minn.; eighth, Laney Woodall, Pattonville, Texas; ninth, Tucker Parkinson, Levelland, Texas; tenth, Colt Parkinson, Levelland, Texas.
Jack Cutter Sullivan, Groveton, Texas, was the grand champion intermediate showman, an age division consisting of youth ages 14 to 16. Rounding out the top ten included: second, Chloe Hazel, Beresford, S.D.; third, Carter Kornegay, Tulsa, Okla.; fourth, Makayla Dockery, Limestone, Tenn.; fifth, Ben Spencer, Gibbon, Neb.; sixth, Tyra Meyer, Sylvan Grove, Kan.; seventh, Tyla Thomas, Sterling, Colo.; eighth, Trace Falkenstien, Oswego, Kan.; ninth, Claire Dorsey, Moro, Ill.; tenth, Grace Lemenager, Fairbury, Ill.
In the final division, members ranging in age from 17 to 21, grand champion senior showman went to Eva Hinrichsen, Westmoreland, Kan. Rounding out the top ten were: second, Sara Sullivan, Dunlap, Iowa; third, McKenna Richardson, Eureka, Kan.; fourth, Mackenzie Neal, Lewisburg, Ohio; fifth; Colton Barton, Jarrell, Texas; sixth, Riley Smith, Macomb, Ill.; seventh, Kathy Lehman, Shelby, Ohio; eighth, Morgan Wise, Topeka, Kan.; ninth, Carson Hoth, Anderson, Mo.; Collin Ochsner, Kersey, Colo.
