Lawrence Family Limousin was honored with the inaugural Legacy Award at the 2026 Limousin Legacy Sale in Denver, Colo.
Like many successful seedstock producers, the Lawrence family’s foundation is firmly rooted in the commercial cattle industry. Their Limousin journey began in 1988 when they purchased a Limousin heifer calf from Stewman Ranches, a past NALF President, for their son Paul. The heifer was purchased using scramble certificates Paul earned at two Texas major stock shows.
Through their children’s involvement showing Limousin heifers, Bruce and Paula developed a deep appreciation not only for the breed, but also for the Limousin community. When they chose to diversify and expand their operation in 1993, Limousin seedstock naturally became the cornerstone of that growth.
Bruce has been a dedicated leader within the industry for decades. He served two years as President of the Texas Limousin Association and multiple additional years on its board. Nationally, he served multiple terms on the NALF Board of Directors, including two years as President. His leadership and commitment have left a lasting impact on the breed and its membership.
The family’s involvement extends well beyond Bruce. Their daughter, Amber, served two terms on the Texas Junior Limousin Association (TJLA) Board of Directors, including one year as President. She also served two terms on the NALJA Board of Directors, culminating in her role as President. Bruce and Paula are especially proud of the legacy their grandson, Tucker, built through his active involvement in the breed from a young age.
Their son, LeRoy, also demonstrated strong leadership, serving two terms on the TJLA Board of Directors, including one year as President. Together, the Lawrence family has established a multi-generational tradition of service, leadership, and excellence within the Limousin breed.
Today, Lawrence Family Limousin manages 300 head enrolled in the LIMS program. Their diversified operation also includes cotton, corn, wheat, native grass, and a successful custom baling business.
Recently celebrating more than 40 years of marriage, Bruce and Paula are excited for the future as their daughter, Amber, and her family return to the family farm after 15 years of service as a 4-H Extension Agent. Watching the next generation carry the operation forward is a testament to the lasting legacy they have built.
